Frequently Asked Questions
How do I delete my account?
In the app, go to Settings > Account > Delete Account. This permanently deletes all local and server data โ no recovery.
From the web, use the account deletion page.
How do I cancel my Premium subscription?
Subscriptions are billed to your Apple ID and can only be managed through Apple.
- iOS: Settings > [Your Name] > Subscriptions > SoberShield โ Cancel
- Cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends to prevent auto-renewal.
- Already paid periods are non-refundable; Premium stays active until the period ends.
Safe zone alerts are not firing.
SoberShield does not guarantee notification delivery (stated in the app description). Alerts may be delayed or suppressed by your device's OS, manufacturer, carrier, or battery policies.
Please check:
- Location permission set to 'Always Allow'
- Notifications permission granted
- Low Power Mode disabled
- Background App Refresh enabled
- If the zone radius is under 50m, entry detection may fail
I purchased Premium but it is not active.
Open the app and go to Settings > Subscription > Restore Purchases to re-verify your Apple receipt.
If it still does not activate, email us with: a screenshot of the Apple receipt email / the Apple ID used (you may mask it) / approximate purchase time.
Can I back up or transfer my data to another device?
If you sign in with an email account, your data (sobriety records, safe zones, achievements) syncs to the cloud. Sign in with the same account on another device to restore.
To export all data as JSON, use Settings > Data Management > Export Data. Personal information is included in plaintext โ do not store the export in a cloud-synced folder.
Is there a usage limit for the AI Coach?
Free users are limited to 5 conversations per day. Premium subscribers get unlimited access. During the 7-day free trial, some features may be limited.
The widget is not working.
Widgets require iOS 17 or later. Open the app once, then add the widget on the home or lock screen. If the widget shows empty data, open the app and use it for 30+ seconds before re-adding the widget.
I forgot my password.
On the login screen, tap 'Forgot Password' and we will send a reset link to your registered email. If you do not receive it within an hour, check your spam folder or email us.
